NAME:
An eagle and a fox became friends and decided to live close to each other, assuming that this way they would strengthen their friendship.
The eagle flew over a very tall tree, and there it made its nest. The fox went to a bush at the foot of the tree, and there it gave birth.
But one day the eagle felt lack of food and went in search of game, as he could not find it, so he rushed into the bush, snatched a young fox and gave it as food for his young.
When the fox returned, he realized what had happened and was very sad. But he was even more saddened by the impossibility of taking revenge on the eagle, as he could not chase a flying animal.
The fox left with his other cubs and stayed away, just cursing his enemy.
One day, however, some shepherds killed a goat to roast. The eagle, very cunning, flew fast and snatched the meat that was on fire, taking them to the tree where their young were. A very strong wind was blowing, and as the meat had a piece of ember, it set fire to a dry branch of that tree. The eagle chicks, unable to fly, fell to the ground. The fox and its cubs ran and devoured them.
Moral: Those who wound with iron, with iron will be wounded.
