Dry ice is the solid form of carbon dioxide derived from other substances. To produce it, you must first compress the gas in tanks and cool it down to minus 20 degrees to liquefy it. After that, all pressure is abruptly released and it expands. The gas in the tank absorbs heat and the liquid solidifies at a temperature of minus 78.5 degrees. In contact with air, the substance gives off vapors.
