On November 11, 1918, the agreement that ended the First World War was sealed. Two groups clashed: on the one hand, the Triple Alliance, formed by Germany, Italy and the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and, on the other, the Triple Entente, from France, England and Russia. Later, Japan and the United States entered the war as allies of the Entente, and Italy switched sides. Germany and its allies were defeated.
