The idea of creating World Kindness Day came from a conference organized by the Small Kindness Movement of Japan, in Tokyo, held in 1996, which brought together groups from various countries.
The date was officially set in 2000 and is intended to propagate and inspire people to create a kinder world.
In Brazil, the World Kindness Day has been celebrated since 2005, through actions of the Brazilian Association of Quality of Life.
