Zoonosis is the name given to diseases and infections transmitted to humans by animals contaminated by microorganisms. Many viruses and bacteria often use other animals, called “hosts”, to wreak havoc on human health. Therefore, zoonoses centers across the country devote special attention to monitoring some species, such as dogs, cats, capybaras, monkeys and bats.
