The registration fee for the Enem is R$ 85. By the rules of the first edict, those who were entitled to exemption in 2020 must justify their absence from the test. The justifications needed to be supported by documents, as well as to fit the predicted hypotheses. They included situations such as traffic accidents, death of a family member, medical emergencies and robberies, among others. The information was confirmed by Agência Brasil.
However, the STF understood that documentary evidence for absentees violates several fundamental precepts. Among them the access to education and the eradication of poverty. This is because, the absence in the last exam took place in an extremely exceptional situation, with the pandemic.
The new deadline for fee-exempt registration applies to those who prove they are entitled to free admission. However, without needing to justify missing a previous edition of the exam.
People who attended all of high school in a public school or who were full scholarship holders are entitled. Students who are attending the last year of high school on the public network, in 2021, can also apply for exemption.
The same goes for those who are in a situation of socioeconomic vulnerability because they are members of a low-income family. In this case, it is necessary to prove the enrollment in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico).
