How to recover a deleted conversation on WhatsApp?

The first thing you should know is that WhatsApp automatically backs up all your data. That is, if you pre-set it to do so.

This way, if you accidentally delete a conversation, just retrieve it from the last backup done. See below two ways that can help you, if you have this setting enabled.

Restore backup from the cloud

When WhatsApp saves all your data, it stores it in the cloud of some server. If you use Android, your conversations probably go to your Google Drive. If you use iPhone, they should go to iCloud.

  1. In your phone settings, find “apps”;
  2. Go to WhatsApp and clear browsing data;
  3. Then uninstall and reinstall the app;
  4. In the process, select the option to restore the backup file.

Delete and redownload your app

This step by step may seem simple, but it is not. It starts from the same point as the previous tip. O Whatsapp automatically backs up your conversations – if configured this way.

Therefore, if you want to recover a conversation that was deleted, just retrieve the last backup. However, keep in mind that you will get the conversation back, but you will lose everything that arrived in your app after the selected day.

use another app

This option is more extreme, because it is not an “official” method. But if you want to try it at your own risk, it might be a good way out for you.

MobileTrans app allows you to find old app records even without backup. That's because it aims to transfer messages from the android for iPhone and somehow manage to recover deleted messages in this process.
