O Federal government recently announced that the FGTS Digital, a new innovative system for managing the Severance Indemnity Fund, is expected to come into operation from January 2024.

It is a technological solution that aims to facilitate the fulfillment of obligations related to the collection of FGTS by employers.
By focusing on companies, the system will allow them to issue personalized guides, consult extracts, request compensation and refunds of values, contract installments and access other services in an agile and automated.
The main objectives of FGTS Digital include eliminating bureaucracy and additional costs, digitizing and streamline procedures, reduce expenses with fees and improve management, control and transparency of Law Suit.
In addition, it seeks to ensure the security and reliability of stored and processed data and information.
It will bring about some significant changes in the FGTS collection process. Some of them are:
Expiration date change: the deadline for collecting the monthly FGTS will be until the twentieth day of the month following the accrual. Such change will only be valid from January 2024;
Collection via Pix: with FGTS Digital, collection will be done exclusively through Pix. The slips will have a QR Code for reading and direct payment on the application or website of the employer's financial institution;
Integration with eSocial: the system will be powered almost simultaneously by information transmitted to eSocial, a platform for sending tax, social security and labor information from companies;
Worker ID: in the Digital FGTS, the employee's identification will be made by the CPF, and it is no longer necessary to use the PIS.
With the new implementation, employers will be able to manage FGTS-related processes more efficiently, reducing operating costs and bureaucracies.
In addition, the automation of procedures will bring more agility and transparency in the administration of the Fund's resources.
For workers, the system will also bring benefits, ensuring that amounts owed are effectively deposited in their linked accounts, in addition to facilitating access to information about the FGTS.
If an employee finds that his FGTS is not being deposited, he must check if there are other linked FGTS accounts in the Boxand file a complaint on the official channel.
In summary, FGTS Digital is an innovation that promises to revolutionize the management of the Guarantee Fund, bringing more efficiency, speed and transparency for the collection and administration of resources, benefiting both employers and workers.
