For some time, finance specialists had been discussing how the State would adjust the INSS salary in 2023. Despite the reviews not being very positive, there was still hope that the increase would be significant.
In a recent document, the Ministry of Economy stated that the salary offered by the INSS from January next year will be R$ 1,310.17. Confirming what the specialists had evaluated, the increase of this amount was not considered pleasant. This is because, compared to the current salary, the increase was only R$ 98.17, which is not enough to cover inflation.
As previously mentioned, the salary offered by the INSS is the result of calculations that take into account the inflation that affects the country. In 2022, it was observed that inflation was already at 4.31% in the first month of the year, which causes inconvenience in the accounts.
The area most affected by this problem is food, which has seen an increase of almost 9%. Food is one of the main focuses of the INSS, which tries to guarantee quality of life for those who no longer work. Therefore, it is possible to see that even with the increase, the 2023 salary will still not be enough to achieve the INSS objective: to guarantee food security and a high quality of life.
