Students aged up to 15 years, 11 months and 29 days, completed by 05/05/2023, can participate in the 52nd edition of the International Letter Writing Contest, which is themed around a superhero's mission to make the roads safer for children. The first three stages are carried out by Correios, and the fourth stage, international, is carried out by the Universal Postal Union.
Luciana Ramos da Silva, Correios' corporate manager, explains that the purpose of the contest is to encourage creativity, development language and affectivity of children and adolescents through the writing of letters, which can be of the most varied types, such as poems or twine. She points out that creativity is worked on by the schools themselves and the contest provides an opportunity for children to express their creativity through writing.

Letters also have the power to move people, as they demonstrate the intelligence and ability of children and adolescents to express feelings and ideas in writing. Contest judges are often moved by the content of the letters and the participants' ability to convey their emotions and ideas through writing.
The contest is carried out in four phases: school, state, national and international, the last being conducted by the Universal Postal Union. The letters received are varied in genre, such as poems and cordel, and moved the judges due to the intelligence and emotion transmitted by the children.
Prizes for winners range from R$2,000 to R$10,500, depending on the phase in which they are selected. Brazil has already been awarded three gold, two silver and two bronze medals, occupying the second position in the international classification, behind only China.
Enrollment goes until March 23 and must be made through the interested party's school, requiring his letter to be chosen to represent in the selection. More information is available at Correios website.
