When we think about work, the idea of our effort to do it or the time we are going to spend doing this activity comes to mind. Which reveals a somewhat selfish view, as we always turn to ourselves; if it involves money or bills, then yes the myself speak louder. Before we continue this "chat", let's try to define what it is work.
Work can be understood as the result of an action on the environment, which modifies it in such a way as to bring some kind of benefit to those who carry out this action.
See that in this conceptualization the terms action, means, modification and benefit appear. Human concerns: effort, time and appreciation are not part of this concept, not because they are not important, but because the meaning of the word is broader and more comprehensive and is not aimed only at our "belly button". The current human vision of what work is has contributed to an individual posture, in which what matters is the self-benefit, with changes imposed on the environment being ignored.
In a job, labor, raw material, tools, product and waste are always involved. This work can be something very complex, like the production of a car on an assembly line or even the execution of an activity mathematics proposal: in this case, the workforce is the student, the raw material is their knowledge, the tools are pencils, erasers, paper, etc., the product is the work itself and the residues are the scraps of rubber, the wooden strips of sharpened pencils, the nails gnawed, etc.
See that we are concerned, before doing the work, basically, with the long hours "lost" to do it and with the mental and physical effort to do it. After execution, we are simply concerned with the delivery and valuation (grade given to the product of our effort).
