On December 27, 2020, just two days after Wonder Woman 1984 opened in both theaters and on HBO Max, Warner Bros. and DC Films, Wonder Woman 3 has been officially greenlit.
This will mark Gal Gadot's sixth time as Diana of Themyscira (counting Zack Snyder's Justice League) and third time working with director Patty Jenkins at DC Comics. However, according to Gadot, it will still be a while before Wonder Woman 3 finally starts shooting.

Although Patty Jenkins is considering filming the third sequel, there is evidently still a lot of work to be done on the story. Here's the update Gal Gadot provided on the film in an extensive interview with InStyle:
“We are developing the script now. We will probably start in a year and a half or so.”
As things stand now, Wonder Woman 3 likely won't start filming until summer 2023, which means that taking considering the extensive post-production process for a blockbuster like this, the earliest we could expect to see the feature is in the summer of 2024. There's also a chance that it could be released sometime in 2025, which is to say nearly half a decade after Wonder Woman 1984 arrived.
Still, you can't rush putting a movie together, and considering the busy schedules of Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins, not to mention given that the pandemic is still affecting our lives, it's not entirely surprising that Wonder Woman 3's filming is so distant.
Gadot will also star in projects such as Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs remake, Heart of Stone, a miniseries about Hedy Lamar and a Cleopatra movie, the latter of which Jenkins has already been signed to to command.
As for Jenkins, along with Wonder Woman 3, she still plans to make the Star Wars Rogue Squadron movie.
