In the universe of colors, we have two classifications or sub-classifications for colors, they are: cold or hot.
cold colors: are the colors associated with water, ice, sky and trees: violet. Blue and green.
Hot colors: are the colors associated with the sun and fire: yellow, orange and red.

Colors have their luminance values. Some are happier and more vivid, these we classify as warm colors. They resemble the sun, fire, and convey excitement, heat, adventure. That's why they are derived from red.
