A psychopathy it is still a big mystery for psychologists and psychiatrists, since it is an atypical form of personality. However, a new study suggests an advantage for psychopaths for these times.

In a recent study published in Europe PMC, University of Cambridge scientist Jonathan R. Goodman points out the supposed advantages of being a psychopath in these times. For him, this advantage lies in the ability that psychopaths have to cheat without feeling the slightest bit of remorse or empathy for the victim.
According to Goodman, over millennia, human beings have developed a personality that relates to fellowship and cooperation. In a way, this was all important in maintaining our lives, since we can survive better if we have the help of others.
However, modern science is already beginning to question humanity's unconditional cooperation in our times. First, because it is increasingly a myth that there is total cooperation, then those who choose to be honest do not always come out better in the situation. On the contrary, those who manage to cheat can guarantee their life with more quality.
The Cheaters' Advantage
Goodman further explains that for a long time unconditional cooperation was important, since human beings lived in small groups. However, this is no longer a reality, since in modern times we all correspond with a huge number of people around the world, most of whom we don't even know.
Since being honest can come at a high price, cheating and lying come to play important social roles. However, many people fail to develop this habit due to moral implications, which is not the case with psychopaths. In consequence, it may be that they are at a greater advantage than the rest.
