The United States was hit by heavy snowfall in December. Some states declared alert to the population, which suffered from dozens of deaths. One of them was Anndel Taylor, just 22 years old. She was trapped in her car on the way home from work, and before she died, she sent a series of videos to her family.

According to the US press, Anndel Taylor was trapped in her car during the blizzard for about 18 hours. During part of this period, she was sending messages to her family, showing the storm, the blizzard and the amount of snow around her car.
Around 4pm local time, Anndel texted her sisters to let them know what was going on. "I'm stuck in the f*cking snowstorm," she said in the text. The ride shouldn't take more than eight minutes, but the weather made it last a few hours.
When the clock struck just over 6:30 pm, the 22-year-old sent a new message to her family. This time, with a video showing that the snow was up to the car's tires. According to her, there was an attempt to contact the fire department. They answered her, promising to send rescue.
It was already more than 8:30 pm when there was another contact with the family. By that point, it had been more than five hours since Taylor had been trapped in her car. She was still in the same spot. The young woman tried to get more help, but told the sisters that she had been on the phone with the authorities for 22 minutes and still had no answer.
“Looks like I'm going to sleep here. I don't know how much fuel it will last [for the warm-up]. I'm furious, brother. My door is almost covered,” said the young woman.
Anndel's last message was sent shortly after midnight. After that, the family was no longer in touch. Tracing the young woman's phone, they found her dead inside the car.

The most acceptable possibility of death for the young girl trapped in the blizzard is that of suffocation by the carbon dioxide emitted by the car. As snow covered the exhaust, some of the gas may have gone inside the vehicle.
Anndel Taylor was lying down and probably slept waiting for the rescue.
The sheriff of Erie County, in Buffalo (NY), confessed to the authorities' failure to provide rescue to the young woman. “We planned it… But we never thought it would be as bad as it was. So do we have to improve? Absolutely. Have better equipment, more equipment,” he said.
