In recent months, gas has seen a significant increase. Despite the despair that gripped many homes, the Petrobras recently announced that there will be a 5.3% reduction in the product. Although it is good news, this readjustment will only occur for distributors, as a kilo of gas will be passed on at a lower weight.
The new estimated value for the sale of the product will be R$ 2.60. This means that a 13 kg cylinder now costs R$ 46.95. Despite the interesting change, it is worth remembering that this value concerns only the companies that make the purchase to start the distribution process. It is not the final price for the consumer.
As pointed out by the National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANP), the change in the final value for the citizen will be minimal. It is even estimated that it will go from R$ 110.19 to R$ 109.85.
It is still not possible to pass the exact value of the cylinder, since the product will still undergo several extra taxes during the refinery process. These additions are necessary so that all companies involved in the distribution chain can benefit in some way.
Each cost is added according to the stage, be it distribution, transport or sale. We can therefore conclude that this reduction was around 0.3%. According to the ANP, this was the first drop in LPG, as it had been experiencing increases since November of last year.
