The Volkswagen Group was the first company to stop production at some of its units due to a lack of parts in February. Now, several other automakers have announced that they will grant collective vacations to employees.
Volkswagen will take 10 days of collective vacation at the Taubaté (SP) factory starting March 27 due to the instability in the component supply chain and to maintain the unit's production, according to information from the company itself. assembler.
The Hyundai Motor Brasil factory, located in Piracicaba, in the interior of São Paulo, started its collective vacation on Monday (20) for its three production shifts and teams from the sector administrative.
The collective holidays will continue until April 2nd, however, they will not affect the activities of the engine plant, which is located in the same industrial complex. The purpose of the measure is to adjust production in March, avoiding the accumulation of inventories.
Due to a “need to adjust the production program”, Mercedes-Benz also disclosed that it will provide partial collective vacations at its factory in São Bernardo do Campo, located in the metropolitan region of São Paul.
The vacation will take place between April 3 and May 2, in view of the lack of components in the industry national and global automaker, as well as a proposal to adapt to the sales volume in the vehicle market national.
