This month, the Federal Government program reached the highest number of beneficiaries so far, with more than 20.65 million families being covered by the program. In an interview with the program The Voice of Brazil last Tuesday, the 4th, Ronaldo Bento, Minister of Citizenship, revealed that around 500,000 families were added to the program in October.
According to the new calendar, these transfers with a minimum value of R$ 600.00 per family start this Tuesday, 11, for those who have a Social Identification Number (NIS) ending in 1. These payments will be made in stages until October 25th. On that date, beneficiaries with the end of NIS 0 will be awarded by the program.
According to Ronaldo Bento, the Brazil Aid it is constantly being improved by the government. The conditions to be part of the program are strictly followed, such as the presence of children and young people from 3 to 21 years old in the education system, vaccination booklet up to date, and in the case of pregnant women, there is a need to do the prenatal.
The minister declared that the program has zero queues of people who need the benefit. “So, more than 8 million new families have already been included in the Auxílio Brasil benefit, and we are in the process of improving our Registration Unique, gateway to social programs, meaning that today 100% of families in extreme poverty are welcomed by the Auxílio program Brazil".
Ronaldo Bento also declared that the Cadastro Único and the aid are undergoing constant modernization, and that the Auxílio Brasil card arrived to democratize access to credit. “[The card] comes to bring security, because the physical card is equipped with a contact chip that makes it difficult to clone these cards, as well as allowing the debit function. This prevents the family from going to a lottery”.
Families that own an individual microenterprise are not withdrawn from the program, and are still entitled to entrepreneurial microcredit. The program provides a form of access to credit, in order to give access to payroll loans, with a maximum rate of 3.5% per month. “This credit must be consciously granted to the beneficiary of the Auxílio Brasil, so that he can use these resources to deal with an existing debt and thus be able to pay, get out of this vicious cycle of debt, or undertake", says the minister.
