The Proof of Life was done once a year by the INSS, but it was suspended until December 31 of this year. As of 2023, the Institute will be implementing some changes in the processes, in which the information contained in a public database that includes the federal, state and municipalities. It is worth noting that even if the Proof of Life returns, it will no longer be mandatory for the citizen, as this procedure will be done automatically, under the responsibility of the regulatory body itself.
Previously, the president of the INSS, who is now the Minister of Labor and Social Security, José Carlos Oliveira, when launching the new form of action of the Prova de Vida earlier this year, in February, said that the measure was aimed at preventing fraud related to the payment of benefits. “As of today, the obligation to carry out the Proof of Life procedure is entirely ours, INSS. We will be accessing all government agencies in search of information, whether in the federal, state or municipal government, and also some private entities to obtain information and thus carry out the proof of life in an effective way”, highlighted.
Another alert that the INSS is passing on to the population is that of not answering suspicious calls, in which they are requesting some type of personal data on behalf of the body.
