The initiative is part of the Life Works Here project (“Life works here”, with a pun on the word “Work” which also means “work”). With the Walton Family Foundation as one of its financial backers, the project aims to make the region becomes a center of highly qualified labor, mainly in the areas of science and technology.
In addition to the financial incentive, the Council also provides a bicycle so that the professional who agrees to move to northwest Arkansas can explore the beautiful trails in the region. However, if the new resident is one of those who don't like extreme sports, he can choose to exchange the equipment for a year of free subscription to one of the art and culture institutions in the state.
Even though the program aims to attract talent from the fields of blockchain-related technologies, the organization also stimulates the residency of recent graduates, families, people looking for new air, entrepreneurs and artists.
To apply for the Life Works Here project, applicants must be at least 24 years old, have at least two years of professional experience, be self-employed or work remotely part-time full-time, be a US citizen or a foreigner who has a visa to work in the country and be available to move to the US within six months after being invited to participate in the project.
Registration to be part of the initiative is carried out through the site.
