The National Traffic Council (Contran) published Resolution No. 866 in December 2021, in which determines the adoption of a new National Driver's License (CNH) in the country as of June 1 this year. In that sense, check it out now what are the changes in CNH in 2022.

The issuance of the new driver's license can be in digital format, through the Carteira Digital de Trânsito application, as well as in the traditional, printed format. The novelties in the document include changes in aesthetics, as well as in the structure, as the division of vehicles will be in new categories.
As of this new version, the colors yellow and green will predominate in the document. In addition, another change is that it will be indicated by means of the letters P and D if the driver in question has permission to drive or if he has the definitive license, respectively.
In addition, the new CNH has a frame with images of vehicles and the letter referring to their category. That is, in the document there will be a marking indicating which categories the person has the aptitude to drive. Furthermore, the QR Code present in documents issued from 2017 onwards will be maintained.
Another novelty is related to the categories, as there will now be 14 options in combination with the letters already used (A, B, C and D) and the number 1. Therefore, each type of license will have new codes available, but Contran will still disclose the specifications of each one in the future. As for motorcycles, the category will be A1 and will have the option of including the design for larger motorcycles.
The issuance of the new CNH will begin in June 2022. In this sense, the card change will occur progressively, when people issue the first copy and as they renew the card. Therefore, those who have the CNH within the expiry date do not need to renew the document immediately.
