The ban on sales of apple watch could be close to happening. On February 21st, AliveCor, a startup fighting for the patent on electrocardiogram technology, announced that Joe Biden, president of the United States, decided to support the decision initiated in December at the Commerce Commission International of USA (in English, the acronym ITC). Biden's positioning could trigger an import ban on Apple watches. Learn more throughout the article.

iPhones that didn't succeed: 5 launches rejected by the public!
The small company AliveCor has 150 employees, a tiny number compared to Apple's 80,000. The startup demonstrated the ECG sensor technology to the technology company in 2015 in order to solidify a business relationship, as guided by The Hill.
In 2018, the tech giant launched the Apple Watch Series 4, with the AliveCor sensor and also blocked access to external applications. AliveCor reported that this caused intense difficulty in 2019 when they had to stop sales of the product for KardiaBand.
“We create new technologies, and instead of the ecosystem allowing us to thrive and continue to build on the innovations we already have, Apple cuts us off, steals our technology, it uses the power of its platform to scale it, and now it's basically saying it scales so it can't be cut," said Priya Abano, CEO of AliveCor.
In December last year, the ITC pointed out that Apple had infringed on startup AliveCor's patent, but so far no import ban has been put into effect. Biden, the president of the United States, decided not to veto the body's decision against Apple.
This is a novelty, as the last time the company received a government ban was in 2013. To soften the situation, as The Verge pointed out, AliveCor may suggest an agreement for the item to be licensed, allowing Apple to make use of the Watches patent.
