Dom Bertrand Maria José Pio Januário Miguel Gabriel Rafael Gonzaga de Orleans e Bragança inherited the royal rights of his brother, Prince Dom Luiz of Orleans and Bragança, and became head of the Brazilian royal family after the death of his predecessor.
Dom Bertand is the third of twelve children of Prince Dom Pedro Henrique of Orleans and Bragança and was born on February 2, 1941, in Mandelieu-la-Napoule, Balneário, in the south of France.
Dom Antonio João Maria José Jorge Miguel Gabriel Rafael Gonzaga de Orleans e Bragança, brother of Dom Luiz and Dom Bertrand, was born in June 24, 1950 and is considered the third in line of succession to the throne and crown of Brazil, according to the official website of the family.

Born March 1, 1989, Henri Antoine Gabriël Wauthier Marie Lamoral de Ligne is the last in line to occupy the Throne of the Imperial Family. He is the second son of the illustrious Belgian Michel, 14th Prince of Ligne, and Dona Eleonora of Orleans and Bragança.
