The birthday withdrawal benefit is released every year. In this sense, the payment refers to a portion of the balance available in the employee's Severance Indemnity Fund (FGTS) accounts and is made available in the month of his/her birthday.
First of all, in order to access the benefit, the worker must apply for the service through one of Caixa's service channels. In this way, it is possible to subscribe to the birthday withdrawal until the last day of the employee's birth month.
You can apply for membership quite easily through one of the following channels: FGTS app (available for both Android and iOS), FGTS website and Caixa website.
However, if you choose the anniversary withdrawal and want to return to the previous withdrawal-termination model, you will have to wait 24 months to make the change. In addition, in case of dismissal, if you have the birthday withdrawal, you will not be able to withdraw the entire amount saved in the Guarantee Fund.
According to the rules, withdrawals must be made within 2 months of the workers' month of birth. Finally, check below the months and the respective payment period of the birthday withdrawal benefit:
According to Caixa, the birthday withdrawal was a modality that grew considerably in 2021. Until December, approximately 17.9 million workers opted for this modality, which corresponded to a total of R$ 23.1 billion in withdrawals.
Anyway, in addition to the FGTS birthday withdrawal, it should be noted that Caixa is also paying for the emergency withdrawal of the Guarantee Fund for residents of regions affected by the heavy rains at the end of 2021 and beginning of 2022.
