Upon arrival, they discover that the area is not visited often by tourists due to it being inhabited by creatures called Elves. Later in the trailer, the young lady of the family finds a strangely adorable looking pixie baby and decides to bring him home.
However, what started with good intentions has disastrous consequences. Her actions unintentionally provoke the other Elves to attack all humans in the area. From start to finish, the trailer is accompanied by atmospheric yet eerie music that heightens the sense that something sinister is about to happen.
The six-episode series is set in Denmark and was created and written by Stefan Jaworski, with Roni Ezra as director and Elise H. Lund as a producer for Miso Film. The cast of the series includes Ann Eleonora Jørgensen, Rasmus Hammerich, Vivelill Søgaard Holm, Sonja Steen, Peder Thomas Pedersen, Lukas Løkken and Lila Nobel.
Of this upcoming series, Netflix North Europe Director Tesha Crawford said:
“There are many reasons why we are excited about this new Danish production. Firstly, we team up again with our longtime partners at Miso Film – who have proven to be great storytellers. Secondly, exploring local myths that have always had great resonance in the Nordic region and being able to turn that into a modern Christmas story, with a little horror twist.”
Elves arrives on Netflix later this month on November 28th. Watch the trailer below:
