The credit that will be released through the Provisional Measure (MP) will be used to pay the benefits mentioned in Constitutional Amendment 123/22, which includes the Auxílio Brasil, the Auxílio Gás, Programa Alimenta Brasil, among others others. In this sense, the forecast is that R$ 200 will be added to the Auxílio Brasil, an increase in the value of the Auxílio Gás and in the amounts of Alimenta Brasil.
The resources will be forwarded to the Ministry of Citizenship and to the Union's Financial Charges. According to the government, this will not affect the spending ceiling or the achievement of the primary result target, which is provided for in the Constitutional Amendment itself.
According to the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic, other credits will also be presented, in order to contemplate all the changes that are foreseen in the Constitutional Amendment.
The Constitutional Amendment Proposal (PEC) 123/22 was approved last July 13th and provides for the creation of a state of emergency, with the objective of maintaining the payment of social benefits until the end of this year.
The proposal establishes an increase of R$ 200 in the Auxílio Brasil until December 31 of this year, as well as an aid of R$ 1 thousand for truck drivers, installments of R$ 200 for taxi drivers, compensation for states that manage to reduce the tax burden on biofuels, funding for free seniors on public transport, improvements in gas vouchers and Alimenta Brazil.
