Once upon a time there was a horse that, in the middle of winter, wanted the return of spring. In fact, even though he now rested peacefully in the stable, he was forced to eat dry straw.
"Oh, how I miss eating the fresh grass that springs up in spring!" said the poor animal.
Spring came and the horse had its grass fresh, but he began to work hard because it was harvest time.
"When will summer come?" I'm tired of spending the whole day pulling the plow! lamented the horse.
Summer came, but work increased and the heat became very strong.
"Oh, autumn!" I look forward to the arrival of autumn! said the horse once more, convinced that in that season his ills would end.
But in autumn he had to carry firewood so that his owner was prepared to face the winter. And the horse did not stop complaining and suffering.
When winter came again, and the horse was finally able to rest, he realized that it had been fanciful to try to escape the present moment and take refuge in the chimera of the future. That's not the best way to look at the reality of life and work.
It is better to discover what life has from moment to moment, living the present in the best possible way.
