How to save cooking gas?

If your stove is connected to kitchen gas, know that there are techniques to reduce consumption while cooking food. Check it out below:

  • Avoid opening the oven;
  • Cook various foods in one pot;
  • Cover the pans;
  • Cut food into smaller sizes;
  • Clean the stove mouth every time you use it;
  • Use pressure cookers.

How to save with the electric oven?

In addition to the tips mentioned on gas consumption, you can also reduce your electric bill by saving money on other appliances. So, you can minimize the expense of refrigerators and showers to use a little more of the oven, so that the bill does not go up. Here are some ways to save electricity:

  • Avoid opening the refrigerator door and do not place hot packaged foods in the door;
  • Use the shower on the coolest (or summer) setting;
  • Keep air conditioners and air coolers at temperatures between 23 and 25 degrees Celsius;
  • If possible, invest in solar panels in your home.

After all, which is better: cooking gas or electric oven?

In fact, the answer to that question may vary from home to home. To know which is more economical, just do some simple calculations:

  • Divide the cost of your cylinder by the number of days it lasts;
  • Then multiply by the number of days in the month. Thus, you will have the monthly cost of cooking gas;
  • Then, check the instruction manual for your electric oven and make this calculation: Power x number of hours consumed x kWh value applied in your city = monthly consumption;
  • Finally, compare the two results and choose the best one for your case.

In general, the electric oven is usually the most economical, but if you prefer a more detailed analysis, follow the step by step above.
