The School Census works as a survey for the creation of statistical data on basic education in Brazil. Through the information collected, a transfer of funds from the Federal Government is directed to schools, as is foreseen in the national planning base. Mapping is necessary to keep track of education in the country.
The date of the survey was changed after the announcement was made by Inep, so it was set for May 31st, ending two months after the start of the survey, on July 31st. The start date was set for the 24th, but it had to be postponed. The period for data to be sent to the Ministry of Education (MEC), so that they end up being published in the Official Gazette of the Union, is now from the 18th to the 23rd of August.
The date for the final delivery of the Census was also changed by the institute. It will be on December 11th. Before, the delivery was supposed to be until the 8th of December. Preparation for the delivery of survey data will be done between December 11, 2023 and January 26, 2024.
The calculation to stipulate the coefficient of the Fund for the Maintenance and Development of Basic Education and the Valorization of Education Professionals (Fundeb) was also jumped from December 8 to 10.
