O film Alec Baldwin's latest, Rust, shut down production on Thursday after a gun "misfired" killing one crew member and injuring another. The information was confirmed by Deadline.
The deadly incident took place on the set of the movie Rust, which is being filmed at the Bonanza Creek ranch outside Sante Fe, New Mexico.

Sante Fe Sheriff's Department officials confirmed to The Sun that the spooky incident is currently under investigation.
Santa Fe County officials confirmed the tragic fatality in a statement late Thursday.
“Santa Fe County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched today, October 21, 2021, at approximately 1:50 pm, to the Bonanza Creek Ranch movie set regarding a 911 call indicating that an individual had been shot in the sep.
“The Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office confirms that two individuals were shot during the filming of a scene on the set of the Western Rust.
“According to investigators, it appears that the scene being filmed involved the use of a gun with blank bullets at the time of firing. Detectives are investigating how and what type of projectile was fired.”
The statement continued: “A shooting victim, a 42-year-old woman, was airlifted to University of New Mexico Hospital.
“The sheriff's office confirms that she succumbed to her injuries. The second victim, a 42-year-old man, was transported by ambulance to Christus St. Vincent, where he receives emergency care.
“The incident remains an active investigation. As more information becomes available, updates will be provided.”
A spokesperson for the Rust film previously said in a statement: "There was an accident today on the Rust filming in New Mexico involving the failure of a weapon."
"Two team members were taken to the hospital and are being cared for."
“Production is at a standstill for the time being. The safety of our cast and crew remains our top priority.”
According to Deadline, criminal investigators are on the scene looking for answers.
Just hours before the violent accident, Alec posed in character on set.
Dressed in old west clothing including dirty cowboy boots, vest and bandana, he was seen holding a hat looking tired in front of his trailer.
“Back to the office. Damn… it’s exhausting,”
Rust will star Alec, 63, alongside actors Travis Fimmel, Brady Noon, Frances Fisher and Jensen Ackles.
Director Joel Souza worked on the story with Alec – who plays the main character, Harland Rust.
The film is about the outlaw who has had a bounty on his head for as long as he can remember.
“When her 13-year-old grandson, Lucas, is convicted of accidental murder and sentenced to hang, Rust travels to Kansas to break him out of prison.
“Together, the two fugitives must overcome legendary United States Marshal Wood Helm and bounty hunter Fenton Preacher Lang, who are after them.
“Deeply buried secrets rise from the ashes and an unexpected family bond begins to form. as the mismatched duo tries to survive on the unforgiving American Frontier,” reads the synopsis of the film.
