Possession of guns in Brazil

• Written statement of the actual need, stating facts and circumstances that justify the request;
• Declaration of not responding to a police inquiry or criminal proceedings (see example);
• Proof of suitability, with the presentation of negative certificates of criminal record provided by Federal, State, Military and Electoral Justice, which may be provided by means electronics;
• Bank proof of payment of the fee due for the issuance of the document through the Union Collection Guide - GRU;
• Proof of psychological aptitude for handling a firearm, carried out within a period not exceeding 01 year, which must be certified by a psychologist accredited by the Federal Police;
• Proof of technical capacity for handling a firearm, carried out within a period not exceeding 01 year, which must be certified by a weapons and shooting instructor accredited by the Federal Police.
