the announcement of new identity card came on February 23, and had the signature of President Jair Bolsonaro. In this case, the main change of the new document is the single registration for each citizen, that is, there would no longer be CPF and RG, but only one number.

With this, the government intends to prevent fraud from happening. And in the same way, the digitization of the document, with the possibility of an authenticated digital copy, strengthens the security scheme.
According to the announcement by the Federal Government, the number of said single registration will be precisely the number that we already use in our CPF. Therefore, the ID number, which we also usually memorize, will no longer be necessary. Additionally, the document will come with a digital copy for everyone who updates their ID. Thus, similarly to the digital vaccine card, you will be able to access your RG directly from your cell phone.
In addition, this digital copy will be authenticated using a QR Code system, which will allow verification of the document, even if the individual is offline. Soon, it will be possible to leave the house without worrying about whether you have your RG in your wallet or not, because only with your cell phone in your pocket can you inform your data, if necessary.
But it doesn't stop there, because the news goes far beyond the authenticated copy and the single registration. Thus, another very interesting factor also arrives with this new identity, which is the extended validity. This is because the new identity cards will be valid for ten years, except for citizens over sixty.
In addition, the portfolio also allows you to include a social name in the identification, without the need to readjust all the other documents. Finally, it is worth noting that by March 2023 all Brazilians will need to have the updated document. And all you have to do is turn to one of the state Public Security Secretariats to get the documentation done.
