We learned in November of last year that Jeff Nichols would be directing a spin-off set in the same creature-ravaged world. A Quiet Place supervisor John Krasinski was even enthusiastic about the choice. But that's not happening right now — at least with Nichols, who has decided to focus on his own work.
Paramount seems not to have been mad. The director would be on an untitled sci-fi project that the studio is apparently excited about.
And this is certainly not the end for the expanding universe of A Quiet Place. Paramount still wants to make the spin-off and is meeting with other potential filmmakers.
