The war between Ukraine and Russia has global impacts that reverberate in Brazil, mainly in the increase in fuel prices. This Friday, Petrobras announced an increase of 18.8% in the price of gasoline and 24.9% in the price of diesel.
These increases have a direct impact on the economy and on the pockets of those who work with transportation, such as taxi drivers, app drivers, truck drivers and others. Thus, the bill that is being discussed in the Chamber provides for the payment of gasoline aid for these workers.

The conflict between Russia and Ukraine shows its effects on a world scale, mainly here in Brazil. One of the most affected areas is fuel prices, which, quoted in dollars, deal with the law of supply and demand.
Petrobras even tried to hold the value for about 57 days, but last Thursday it announced that it would pass the increase on to consumers. Thus, gasoline increases by around 18.8% and diesel by 24.9%.
Gradual increases directly interfere with the economy, because as soon as it is passed on to the consumer, prices need to be readjusted to cover all expenses. With this, the government is studying possibilities to reduce the impacts caused on the consumer's pocket.
This Thursday, the 10th, the Senate approved Bill (PL) 1.472/2021. This project aims to change the fuel calculation formula and create price stabilization.
The central idea is to delay the rise in prices so that the increases passed on are lighter for the consumer's pocket. That way, when there was a need to raise prices, the consumer would not feel so much.
In addition, the project also provides for the creation of gasoline aid for people who have an income of up to three minimum wages. Thus, self-employed drivers, taxi drivers and app riders can benefit from values between R$ 100 and R$ 300.00, provided that the person proves that he works with a vehicle.
