Despite the growth, the sport was considered feminine because it did not have much contact and violence. This scenario began to change in 1975 with the new president of the Brazilian Volleyball Confederation, Carlos Arthur Nuzman.

Thanks to the encouragement of the then president, the sport gained even more notoriety, which made the so-called Silver Generation possible.

Nuzman believed that Brazil should implement the practices of Italy It's from Japan in sport. Thus, with increased performance and professionalism, in 1984, the Silver Generation won its first Olympic medal.

From then on, the sport gained more investment and encouragement.

Generation of the Muses

With players like Isabel, Vera Mossa, Dulce, Regina Uchôa and Jaqueline, also in the 80s, women's volleyball gained national attention.

Brazilian Volleyball Confederation

On August 16, 1954, the Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV) was founded. Until that moment, Brazilian volleyball was linked to the Brazilian Sports Confederation (CBD).

The CBV was responsible for promoting courses to spread the sport, as well as creating volleyball schools.

The Confederation's first president was former player Denis Rupet Hathaway, who held the post from 1955 to 1957. Until today, the CBV is responsible for the support and growth of the sport in Brazil.
