The World Health Organization (WHO) launched a project that aims to carry out tests to measure the efficiency of four promising drugs inCovid-19 treatment, disease caused bynew coronavirus.
Called Solidarity, the project is worldwide, with hospitals and doctors from different countries being invited to send data of infected patients and their conditions, in addition to scanning the follow-up done.

The four drugs tested by the project are remdesivir, used in the treatment of Ebola; The Ritonavir or Lopinavir, one of the drugs used to slow down HIV; The interferon-beta, a remedy that regulates body inflammation and was efficient in marmosets infected with MERS; and the chloroquine, medicine used in the treatment of malaria and lupus.
Asrequires a lot of time create a specific drug for the disease, the tests are a way of accelerating the search for a medicinal alternative capable of treating the new coronavirus. In addition, animal tests of drugs against two types of coronavirus have already shown good results.
A WHOdoes not recommend self-medication, as the drugs are still being tested to assess the possibility of counter-reactions in patients.
