Previously, WhatsApp video calling only supported eight people, implying a fourfold increase in capacity. In order to facilitate integration for everyone, the app also announced a redesign of the video call screen page layout.
In this sense, to support all members of the call, the images appear in a smaller format than usual, with the visualization of when someone is talking. Also, the feature is available from Android version 2.22.8.79 and iOS version 22.8.80 (for iPhone).
For you to have access to the new feature, in addition to having to update WhatsApp, you must also click on the “Calls” feature and select the “+” sign at the top of the screen. After that, just click on “New group call” and put all the contacts you want to make the video call with. When you're done choosing, just start the call from the phone icon.
It is worth noting that you can only add people to the call if their phone numbers are saved in your contact list. If you have a group you want to talk to, you can initiate the call directly from the group. In this case, just enter it and click on the phone button.
