Women from São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro who own a micro-enterprise can apply to receive a donation of 500 reais of Bahia Houses. The initiative aims to grant the amount so that 2,000 women can invest in their businesses.
The total cost of the action, in the amount of 1 million reais, will come from Entrepreneurial Woman Emergency Fund (FEME). This fund was created by Fundação Casas Bahia, a Via Varejo social institution, which has the brands Casas Bahia, Extra.com and Pontofrio.

The process for selecting micro-entrepreneurs is carried out in partnership with Aliança Empreendedora, an organization that supports low-income micro-entrepreneurs. The goal is to choose 200 women a week, who will be contacted for the process of opening a current account at banQi, the institution that manages the financial part of the initiative.
In addition to the possibility of receiving the donation, the woman who signs up has access to a
training program composed of five video lessons. The training addresses issues related to enterprise management and women's mental health, with tips on how to deal with fear and reinvent the business.The action also intends to attract new partners to contribute to the Fundo Emergencial Mulher Empreendedora. In a note, the director-president of Fundação Casas Bahia, Hélio Muniz, emphasizes the importance of collaboration to reduce the effects of the crisis and encourage business at this time of the new pandemic coronavirus.
