In a story that is being successful in the TikTok, a podiatrist (foot specialist) says that he had to retain a pair of shoes from a client who did not pay for his services.

According to the woman, the girl chose to take off the shoes to avoid getting them wet, but the intention was never to leave the shoes as collateral in the office.
In any case, the shoes remained at the podiatrist's establishment until at a later appointment the mother remembered the shoes and questioned the podiatrist, who surprised her.

In a video posted on his TikTok account, the podiatrist appears filming himself and telling the story. The material already has more than 8 million views and thousands of comments.
“The girl didn't have the money to pay me and I needed to be paid, so I had to put something in collateral, and I took her shoes off,” she explained.
The podiatrist alleges that at no point, from scheduling the first appointment to carrying out the procedure and scheduling the second consultation, the clients did not even mention how they would like to do the payment.
At one point in the posted video, it is possible to hear the voice of the girl's mother, who seemed to be present in the office.
According to what is possible to understand from the woman's statements, she and her daughter demand the return of the shoes as they would not have been given as a guarantee for anything.
The woman also argues that the day the shoe was left at the office, her daughter came home barefoot.
In contrast, the podiatrist says that “it wasn't his fault” that it was raining that day and that the situation was the woman's fault. “Didn’t you teach your daughter to bring money to get her nails done?” asked the professional.
The woman also cited the age of the girl, whose age was not disclosed but is supposedly a minor, as justification for why she did not make the payment.
Ultimately, the woman claimed the shoes once again, claiming that she would be forced to buy a new pair. Then the podiatrist retorted that he would only return the shoes upon payment of the $120 owed to him.
In the comments of the video posted on TikTok, most users agree with the podiatrist. “You are not correct. The man needs to be paid,” said one.
“No pay, no shoes! I hope he gets paid,” wrote another. “Take her mom’s shoes too,” one user exclaimed.
Situations like this are not uncommon, but they are undeniably uncomfortable. In cases like this, the right thing to do is seek a friendly conversation first and, if the attempt fails, turn to the competent authorities.
Either way, prevention is the best medicine. If you have minor children, never let them enter into purchase or service agreements without supervision. Remember that you are the legal guardian of the minor.
