This search involves the entire planet, which is manipulated by large banks and companies. The capitalist system began to operate more aggressively after the Second Industrial Revolution (1850–1950).

So the imperialism consists of a formal and informal domain exercised over a certain territory, with the objective of controlling it in a political and economic way.

Contrary to what happens with the colonialism, in imperialism there is no annexation of the nation influenced by the dominant power.

It is important to point out that colonialism is a product of the expansion of imperialism as imperialist nations expand along with the monopolies established in dominated countries.

Backed by the idea of progress, the imperialist powers of Modern age threw themselves into the world to “civilize” it.

the domain of European countries over the rest of the world was justified by ethnocentric theories, which asserted the superiority of certain peoples over others.

With this, it is important to emphasize that the Europeans saw themselves as superior beings to the others. So the social darwinism it was also part of the theories that justified European domination over other countries.

The imperialist nations, mainly the European ones, in addition to dominating and exploiting almost all countries in the world, promoted numerous conflicts, such as the First and the Second World War.

In line with this, the US imperialist era begins, in which the U.S come to occupy a prominent role among the dominant powers.

US imperialism can be perceived in the most varied areas: social, economic, military, political and cultural.
