The first edition of the University for All Program – ProUni 2019 – this year had 946,979 candidates enrolled. The information is from the Ministry of Education (MEC). Registration ended yesterday (3).
As each candidate could choose up to two course options, the number of enrollments reached 1,820,446. 243,888 scholarships are offered in 1,239 private educational institutions.

Ministry of Education releases first call for Prouni 2023
In 2019, ProUni had fewer subscribers than in previous years. Last year, there were more than 1 million applicants. Already in 2017, more than 1.5 million.
The results of the first call will be released this Wednesday (6). The list of the second call comes out on the 20th. Of the total scholarships, 116,813 are full and 127,075 are partial.
The candidate pre-selected in the first call must attend the institution to prove the information provided in the application. If applicable, they must also participate in the institution's own selection process, from the 6th to the 14th of this month.
For those pre-selected in the second call, this period runs from the 20th to the 27th. The deadline to join the waiting list is March 7-8. From March 11 to 13, the list will be announced.
ProUni 2019 is aimed at students who have taken the 2018 exam. In addition, students need to reach at least 450 points and score higher than 0 in the essay. In all, 4.1 million students took the test last year.
Brazilian students without higher education who have completed high school in public schools can apply for scholarships. Full scholarship holders in the private network are also eligible, those who attended high school in the public network and part in the private network, as scholarship holders or who have a physical disability.
Full scholarships are intended for students with a per capita family income of up to one and a half minimum wages (R$ 1,497). The partial grants, of 50%, are for those with per capita family income of up to three minimum wages (R$ 2,994). Public school teachers can also apply for scholarships and do not need to meet the income criteria.
