Know when you should make the new RG

Since the 1st of March, the new identity card model is already available and comes with many new features, such as the possibility of having a certified copy on your cell phone, including a company name, in addition to having a unique identification. New RG must be made by 2023

There is no need to be in a hurry to complete the new documentation, as the deadline for the change will be March 6, 2023. Thus, from that date, the previous models will no longer be accepted, so that all Brazilians need to be aligned with this issue.

However, although this is the deadline for updating the document, you can make the change now if you wish. In this way, you will avoid queues, pressure with the deadline, and you will be able to enjoy all the benefits that the new model guarantees. So, if you want to go ahead with the process, you can go to a Public Security Office in your state and fill out the new documentation.

The new format of the General Registration of Identification brings numerous advantages to the citizen. The main one is the possibility of having a certified copy of the RG on your cell phone, which solves the problem of those who keep forgetting the physical document. In this case, the digital document already comes with a QR code for queries, without even having to have an internet connection to use it.
