During a live broadcast on Thursday (16/5), President Jair Bolsonaro commented on the R$ 2.5 billion fine paid by Petrobras in an agreement signed in the United States. According to him, the amount should even be reverted to the budget of the Ministry of Education (MEC) and, perhaps, to the Science and Technology portfolio.
“Petrobras' R$2.5 billion fine is returning to Brazil and can be applied to something that has nothing to do with Petrobras. By all indications, we should take this resource to the Ministry of Education. I would like, in part, if possible, to take it to the Ministry of Science and Technology”, said the president.

The president again criticized the demonstrators who participated in the protests that took place, on Wednesday (15/5), against the contingency in the budget of universities and federal institutes.
“It was not a demonstration for education, it was a demonstration sponsored by a minority of smart PT, PCdoB PSOL, PCO, unions, using the good faith of students, who want a better education, to do an act for Lula Livre”, he said. For him, there was a “majority of good faith” in the acts, but that “were used”, he added.
