White line appliances are essential products in the lives of families, present in virtually every home. This category includes items such as refrigerators, stoves, machines washing machines, dryers, freezers and dishwashers.
In this case, the term “white line” is used due to the predominance of white in these devices, although currently there are different color options. Recently, the Government announced a measure to make these items cheaper.
Last Wednesday, the 12th, during a meeting of the National Science and Technology Council, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva communicated the exemption proposal. The measure works based on partnerships between the government and the industries in the sector.
One of the most common ways to implement this program is through the exemption or reduction of taxes on the manufacture and sale of these products. In this sense, it is the IPI (Tax on Industrialized Products).
As the rates drop, companies are able to pass on part of that savings to consumers, resulting in lower prices on shelves. Therefore, it means that most household appliances must become cheaper.
Despite being considered a promotion, the discount does not occur in isolation, but in general. This concerns the lowering of the product in all stores, because it is a common agreement that reduces the manufacturer's costs.
In April 2009, this idea was implemented and lasted until the beginning of 2010, expanding access to white goods. So far, no date has been confirmed, so stay tuned for opportunities.
