Hope came through an in vitro study conducted by researchers at the University of Melbourne and the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Australia. The research pointed out that the medicine is capable of killing the new coronavirus in 48 hours.

Thus, as Fiocruz infectologist Fernando Bozza highlighted, Kylie underlined that, in the pandemic scenario, a known drug is faster in reaching an effective treatment. “As there is no approved treatment, if we have a compound that is already available around the world and it turns out to be effective, that can help people. Realistically, it will be a while before we get a vaccine.”
