Female Bengal Tiger battered in circus is rescued and shows incredible recovery

Debilitated, Aasha was rescued in 2o11 by veterinarian Vicky Keahhey

Many animals are mistreated and raised in precarious situations in circuses around the world. One of these animals is the Bengal tiger, which in addition to being one of the most endangered felines, suffers from this serious problem.

Aasha, a nine-month-old tiger cub, was found in this situation. The female belonged to a traveling circus and weighed only 13kg, which is normal for a three-month-old puppy.

Aasha has been abused by her owners for a long time, but fortunately Vicky Keahhey, Texas veterinarian and founder -In-Sync Exotics Wildlife Rescue and Educational Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing cats that suffer mistreatment and abuse, rescued. The animal has been under her care since 2011.

Vicky told The Dodo website: "Aasha had hair loss that covered most of her body and her skin was dry and cracked, with dark areas and bleeding." When the female was found, her paws were swollen and red, her body was covered in ringworm and her belly and head were almost hairless.

For four weeks, Aasha had to bathe with medication and twice a day she took two different types of medication by mouth.

So many months of care, good nutrition, effort and love made the puppy begin to heal and get healthier. They even brought in a friend, Smugller, who went crazy about her. Today, the two live in the same enclosure and are still recovering.
