The salary of a young apprentice is calculated according to the hours worked, therefore it is said that the apprentice receives minimum hourly wage. However, this amount in the Young Apprentice's salary is not fixed for all types of companies. The salary of the minor is based on the amount of hours he works.
Currently, they are paid R$ 3.58 per hour worked. It is important to check with the company as this value may vary in cases of collective bargaining such as agreements or conventions. Salary can be equal or higher but never lower.
Annually, the Ministry of Labor and Employment prepares a table with wage values paid based on the amount of hours worked, which are defined in the contract, when the Young Apprentice is registered with the company in question.
This table, for example, works with the value of R$ 4.00 per hour. For more information: (Decree 8.618/2015). Look:
Contract / Hours | Salary Amount |
---|---|
20 hour week contract | BRL 413.33 |
22 hour weekly contract | BRL 454.66 |
23-hour weekly contract | BRL 475.33 |
25 hour week contract | BRL 516.66 |

To calculate the salary of a young apprentice, one must consider the total number of hours worked combined with theoretical qualifying classes, in addition to paid weekly rest and holidays.
The daily work limit of an apprentice is 08 hours a day, in the case of those who have already completed basic education (high school) and 04 to 06 hours for those who are still studying.
The following formula is used to define the apprentice's salary:
Young Apprentice Monthly Salary = Hourly wage (2018 is BRL 4.54) x hours worked during the week x number of weeks in the month x 7 days
See some cases varying according to the workload of the apprentices:
04 hours a day, 04 weeks: BRL 4.54 x 4 hours x 4 weeks x 7 days = BRL 508.48
06 hours a day, 04 weeks: BRL 4.54 x 5 hours x 4 weeks x 7 days = BRL 635.60
06 hours a day, 04 weeks: BRL 4.54 x 6 hours x 4 weeks x 7 days = BRL 762.72
06 hours a day, 04 weeks: BRL 4.54 x 7 hours x 4 weeks x 7 days = BRL 889.84
06 hours a day, 04 weeks: BRL 4.54 x 8 hours x 4 weeks x 7 days = BRL 1,016.96
One of areas most disputed by apprentices is the banking area, as it can offer different growth opportunities within the company. Furthermore, wages draw attention.
The apprentice must deal with banking segment activities such as, for example, sales of some products offered by banking institutions, office routines, administrative routines and direct service to the public.
Selected minors will be able to work in large companies in the financial area, as Itau, Banco do Brasil, Bradesco and Caixa.
It's not an easy market. The Young Banking Apprentice program annually offers thousands of vacancies for young apprentices, prioritizing individuals in situations of financial need, with the objective of transforming the personal, professional and cultural reality of these young people.
According to the LoveMondays website, the wage medium to Young Banking Apprentice is BRL 936/month. The salary can vary from R$ 539 to R$ 1,405. This salary estimate is based on 10 wage(s) posted by program employee(s).
This makes the banking area one of the most sought after and competitive in the Young Apprentice program.
