Google Should Launch New Smartphones in Its Pixel Lineup

Google announced on Tuesday (16) that “something big is coming to the Pixel lineup” on May 7th during the first day of the Google I/O conference. It seems the new intermediaries Pixel 3a and 3a XL will be launched.

The Google Pixel is Google's latest lineup, announced in October 2018, in the United States. the smartphone came to replace the Nexus line, and it is, along with the Google Pixel XL, the first cell phone with Google Assistant out of the box. Like every line of smartphones, it is common to innovate in the specifications of their devices.

These new devices announced by Google, have a 12 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front camera similar to those of the Pixel 3, which produces good quality images, even in low light environments (with the Night Sight feature) and impresses in the DxOMark results (website which provides image quality ratings for standalone cameras, lenses, and mobile devices that include cameras, especially smartphones).

It is likely that the Pixel 3a will have a 5.6-inch screen, while the Pixel 3a XL will have a 6-inch OLED display. They would have the Snapdragon 670 processor, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. In addition, they would maintain the P2 connection for headphones.

Made with plastic material, the devices would include Google's Titan M security chip and have pressure-sensitive Active Edge edges.

Since the end of the Nexus series of devices in 2016, it is the first time that Google is launching a phone for less than $600 (BRL 2334, in direct conversion and without taxes). Will be advertised at a lower price.

Taking into account that the Pixel 3 and 3 XL are offered, respectively, for US$ 799 and US$ 899 (approximately R$ 3,090 and R$ 3,480 in direct conversion) in the store official from Google, the Pixel 3a and 3a XL are expected to be available in the range of US$ 400 and US$ 500 (approximately R$ 1,550 and R$ 1,935 in conversion direct).
