The Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes) suspended the granting of master's and doctoral scholarships in the month of May. The total number of grants, the research areas affected and the frozen value have not yet been disclosed by the agency.
Capes decision prevents students selected for new research from receiving scholarships that had funds already provided for in 2019. Monthly fee per student is R$ 1,500 for the master's and R$ 2,200 for the doctorate.
