The competition was created by Frenchman Jules Rimet, in 1928, after having assumed the command of the most important institution in world football: FIFA (Federation International Football Association).

World Cup Activities 2018 Elementary School – Classroom Games

Where am I?

Material used:

• paper
• pen

Development:

• Write a list with the name of the cities that will host the World Cup games (Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Cuiabá, Curitiba, Fortaleza, Manaus, Natal, Porto Alegre, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador and São Paulo) and cut the list in comic strips. Draw in the lottery who will be the first to draw a piece of paper and say: “Who knows where I am?”.
• The class will ask questions to try to find out where the participant is, but he can only answer yes or no. Whoever hits the city where he is is the next to draw a city.

In a soccer field, to reach the goal, the student must have the multiplication table at the tip of the tongue. The game proposes a challenge involving multiplication operations. Before starting the game, the student chooses two times tables to work on and can only move around in the field through the boxes that contain the results of one of the options chosen.

Development:

• The class forms a circle and one participant passes the ball to the other with their hands, speaking the letters of the alphabet in sequence.
• When someone makes a mistake, they have to say the name of a country participating in the Cup that starts with the letter of the time. For example, if the player missed the ball when speaking the letter P, he could say Portugal, for example. If he doesn't know or gets it wrong, he leaves the game. Then, the game is resumed with the next letter. Whoever comes last wins.

With a combination of reading, acting and hand coordination, the game tests students' knowledge of World Cup-related subjects. After answering the questions and getting it right, the student gets five attempts to make a shot into the goal.

Silly

• The most classic of ball games, it is a game in which all participants are in a circle and touch the ball to each other. The silly is in the center trying to intercept the passes. If he manages to catch the ball, the author of the wrong pass becomes the new silly man. In some places, there is a rule that forces the fool to stay one more round if he takes a pen or hat.

• Each team has a goalkeeper and a top scorer. That's all. The goalkeeper throws the ball to the scorer, who must score with just one touch of the ball. If you manage to convert, players switch positions. The fun has always been in trying to score a goal while switching positions on the other team. The limit score is always prearranged.

• Perhaps not so often played in the street, as it requires two beams, it is also always played in “cementation” courts in squares and clubs. In this modality, the player is, at the same time, the goalkeeper and the attacker, risking shots to the opponent's goal and defending his goal. There is also a variation where hands-on defense is not allowed. Oh, and if it hits the crossbar, it's a penalty!

Line

• Three-player game that starts with whoever is smarter and shouts “line” first. Whoever screams last is the goalkeeper. Players must touch the ball to each other outside the area, with the third touch being a shot to the goal. If the goalkeeper defends and rebounds, the outfield players can play freely to reach the goal. However, if the goalkeeper manages to intercept the pass and catch the ball with his hands inside the area, he will eliminate the last one who touched his feet.

Alphabet Volleyball

• First, a theme must be chosen, such as fruits. Then the children form a circle and play volleyball, but at each move, they must speak a letter in alphabetical order.
• Whoever drops the ball must say a fruit that starts with the letter of the time, for example, if the ball fell when saying the letter “m”, whoever dropped it can say papaya, apple or watermelon, for example. Then return to the game with the next letter.

Cabriola, where's the ball?

• The children must choose another child to be the Cabriola, then the Cabriola must stand in front, facing away from the group and with a ball in his hand.
• To start the game, Cabriola needs to throw the ball up and back, and another child in the group hides it. Afterwards, the group asks “Cabriola, where's the ball?”, and the Cabriola has to guess who she is with.
• If he can guess, the kid who hid the ball becomes the new Cabriola.

• In this game only two people play at a time. The objective is to score the opponent's goal. You can only shoot from midfield at most. The field must be divided in half and each player gets a goal.
• The rules are simple: if the ball hits the crossbar or crossbar, the opponent takes a penalty; if it passes the midfield to kick, the opponent also hits a penalty and, if the ball goes out the side, it is a set-piece kick from where the ball left. There are two halves of 25 moves each.

Crosswords

• Three or more children make a wheel and choose a letter from the alphabet. Afterwards, they need to throw the ball to each other, saying words with the chosen letter. The child who makes mistakes leaves the wheel. Whoever comes last wins
